The Truth and Parables
(Mark 4:10-20)
Overseer Sung-Hyun Kim
God
is true.
He
created and upheld all things by His word (Jn 1:1-3).
Since His word is eternal life, spiritual beings can live (Jn 6:68)
and abide with God (Jn 8:31).
God’s word of eternal life is the truth (Jn 14:6).
Worldly people are dead because they do not know this mystery,
but those who know and believe the truth
are given the right to become God’s children (Jn 1:12-14).
The tabernacle shown to Moses was a copy and parable of heaven.
It is a shadow of Jesus Christ (Heb 9:1-10, Jn 2:19-22).
Jesus is the image of the Father’s person and the truth (Phil 2:6-8).
Since the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth, He enters us (Jn 16:13-14).
All parables cannot enter the spirit (Lk 8:9-10),
so even if parables are heard, Satan takes them away.
Some hear the word in a positive way
but cannot endure persecution and dry up like a rootless seed,
and others fall for the deceitfulness of riches and worldly lusts and
cannot bear fruit.
The truth is the word that God works on by the Holy Spirit (Jn 8:32).
○ God said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
This is the truth and eternal life.
The Holy Spirit testifies to this (Jn 15:26).
○ You cannot be saved by parables,
so the Law and the Prophets cannot save. Parables cannot save.
Jesus also spoke in parables, but there is no salvation in parables (Mk 4:11-12).
○ Jesus’ parables are only to make you understand.
The Holy Spirit alone speaks the truth and saves.
The Law and Prophets were present only until John the Baptist.
※ You cannot become a true child of God
because you feed on parables.
You must be nourished by the Spirit of truth to confess true faith.
